Ansari is the new star in Tedeschi's Amarone sky. Just 6,600 bottles were produced from the 2016 debut vintage. It was named after the three Tedeschi siblings Antonietta, Sabrina and Riccardo, who also selected the three barrels from which the blend was made. Rich bouquet of dried fruit, sultanas, rum and chocolate. Firm on the palate with excellent structure, the opulent fruit core is joined by balsamic, herbal notes, then a piquant bitter note in the long finish. "The 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella Ansari is rich and balsamic on the nose, with ashen soil giving way to crushed black cherries, mocha, savory herbs and hints of animal musk. It’s velvety and elegant in style, ushering in masses of dark fruits, exotic spices and cocoa. As intense and heady as it is, brisk acids work to maintain balance, as it tapers off long, lightly structured and staining with sweet purple-tinged flowers and lavender tones. There’s the slightest tinge of heat that lingers, yet it doesn’t detract from the experience." VINOUS
"Incredibly dense aromas and flavors of fresh and dried black fruit, including currants, crushed berries, dates and passion fruit, together with notes of perfumed bark and walnuts. Full and fruity with a very fine-tannin framework to push the complex fruit flavors forward. Super long finish. Shows remarkable control, despite the 17.5% alcohol declaration on the bottle.
