V I N E YA R D & W I N E M A K I N G:
The climate in Marlborough has high sunshine hours, but temperatures during the growing season are regulated by the cooling ocean influence. In 2015 Marlborough had a warmer than usual spring, followed by a temperate summer with our Pinot Noir grapes harvested between mid-March and early April. The Private Bin Pinot Noir is a blend from vineyards in the Awatere and Wairau valleys offering a variety of meso-climates. Soil types ranging from deep clay slopes on the dry eastern hills in the southern valleys sub region of the Wairau Valley, to old riverbed silts and stony gravels from terraces adjacentto the Awatere River.
