Assyrtiko has been on the rise the past 10-15 years and from the looks of it, it won’t stop until it hits the very top! Most importantly, it has just started an international career as well, which will help it in reaching its goals!
It belongs to a group of drought-resisting varieties, that producers from around the globe are experimenting with, in their efforts to compensate against global warming.
The success of Estate Argyros over the past few years (both locally and internationally) already has an effect on the availability of their top wines, and we are trying our best to secure as much of it as possible for our customers.
At the most recent Decanter World Wine awards Argyros Estate Cuvee Monsignori received a Platinum award with a staggering 97/100 rating! Of course it’s not the first nor the last time a wine from Santorini and Argyros Estate receives this rating, but it will be the first time when you will need to act fast if you want to secure a few bottles.
The next vintage of 2020 won’t be available until next spring and the current vintage 2019 is expected to run out pretty fast.
So if you are a restaurant owner, please send us your requests for an allocation as soon as possible. If you are a private customer we would recommend to buy your bottles as long as they last.
