TASTING NOTES: Ruby-red with raspberry red at the rim. The nose offers notes of cherries, strawberries, and violets, later opening with notes of pencil lead, cedar, and red licorice also appear. The fresh palate offers silky round tannins, good volume, and a long finish.
FOOD PAIRING: This wine is ideal with roasted or grilled red meats with simple accompa- niments, such as baked potatoes, or with game meats such as venison in red-wine sauce, roast boar, or rabbit stew. It is also excellent with duck magret and with strong, aged cheeses such as Emmental or rich, creamy cheeses such as Camembert.
