Foillard Morgon is a winery in Beaujolais with 14 hectares of vineyard. They work their old vines without chemicals, harvesting late and making selections of the best grapes. The winery is committed to developing natural wines that respect the integrity and typical nature of the grape.
The vineyard for Foillard Morgon Côte du Py is planted on granite and shale soils on the famous Morgon “Côte du Py” hillside. It works naturally, without herbicides or pesticides.
The grapes for Foillard Morgon Côte du Py are refrigerated before the winemaking begins. The whole bunches are covered to ferment them by performing a carbonic maceration, and the final wine is aged for 6 to 9 months in used oak barrels to avoid removing personality from the wine. No oenological products are added nor is the wine chaptalised, i.e. sugars are not added to ferment it and increase the alcoholic strength. Foillard Morgon always uses as little sulphite as possible, and bottling is carried out without clarifying or filtering.
