The Left bank Bordeaux hogs the limelight with dark Cabernet based wines, where the Right Bank wines feature heavier clay soils better suited to Merlot and Cabernet Franc- more accessible and generous wines.
Founded in 1898 but now a modern ‘Michel Rolland’ wine featuring vibrant blackberry, red cherry and plum with a dash of pencil shavings. Medium bodied supple & round plum, smoky dry tannins and round chocolaty oak (50% new barrels).
82% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec. Decant if drinking now, or cellar for another 3-5 years for best results.
