TASTING NOTES: Bright garnet red with violet nuances. The complex nose reveals itself slowly, first showing fruity notes of plums, strawberries, and blueberries, and as it breathes, notes of figs, undergrowth, leather, and graphite appear, paying tribute to its origin and aging in French oak barrels. The well- balanced palate features silky tannins and vibrant acidity leading to a long finish.
FOOD PAIRING: This is a wine with tremendous personality, character, and longevity. Ideal with slow-cooked stews and braised meats such as ossobuco or roasted meats with porcini mushroom sauce. Other excellent options for this wine include game meats, such as quail or oven-roasted rabbit chops, as well as various lamb dishes, including leg of lamb with vegetables or lamb cous cous wth garbanzos.
